The new CM of Punjab has introduced a bike scheme for students, with online registration open at https://bikes.punjab.gov.pk. It’s the first time the government has offered interest-free electric and petrol bikes. We’ll discuss the registration details for E-Bikes provided by the Punjab Government.
Eligibility Criteria:
- An excellent opportunity for over 800,000 students across the province to obtain their own transport.
- Must be over 18 years of age.
- Must be a regular student of a Degree College / University, duly recognized by HEC.
- Must hold a valid motorcycle Learner’s Permit / Driving Licence.
- In case of receipt of applications in excess of allocated quotas, e-balloting shall be conducted.

Bike Selection and Application Process:
- Students enrolled in degree programs at recognized universities or graduate colleges in Punjab are eligible to apply for bikes under this scheme.
- The selection process involves choosing from various bike models listed on the scheme’s web portal.
- Female students have the flexibility to apply for either E-Bikes or P-Bikes, with both Scootie and Motorbike versions available.
CM Punjab Bike Scheme 2024 Application Form:
- Applications must be submitted online through the designated web portal, after student registration.
- Only regular students attending university or college on a daily basis are eligible.
- Students must possess a valid Driving License or Learner’s Driving Permit for motorcycles.
- Financial Assistance and Subsidies:
- The financing for E-Bikes is capped at Rs. 250,000, and for Petrol Bikes, it’s capped at Rs. 150,000.
- A 30% equity payment is required from the borrower, with a special relief provided by the Punjab Government covering a portion of this equity.
- All mark-up on the bike loan is also covered by the Punjab Government, with the total subsidy amounting to approximately Rs. 1 Billion under Phase-1.

- Loan Repayment and Obligations:
- Monthly loan installments are payable and deposited into an account opened with the Bank of Punjab specifically for the scheme.
- Late payment charges are applicable for delays in depositing the monthly installments.

- Upon selection and confirmation, vendors proceed with booking the bike or informing the Bank of Punjab about the chassis and engine numbers for insurance.
